Short circuit current limiting. Low standby current. MC33063A and MC34063A devices are easy-to-use integrated circuits that contain all the major circuitry needed to build a simple DC-DC converter. These devices consist of an internal temperature compensation reference, comparator, oscillator, PWM controller with active current limiting, drivers, and high-current output switches. As a result, converters with boost, buck, and inverting topologies are used with these devices with minimal external components.
